• Problem with tftpd upgrade removing /var/tftpboot/ directory and all its contents forum post on issue

  • tftpd has not been updated since 2022 but in CU188 it was shipped due to a build fix for GCC 14
  • There is no backup includes file for /var/tftpboot/ but the contents would be quite large and can also be a remote mount such as NFS as with the forum poster
  • The directory is listed in the rootfile. It was added to the rootfile by Jon otherwise tftpd gave an error message about the directory being missing.
  • How to keep the directory contents in place during an upgrade without doing a backup of something that might be larger than the IPFire disk size.

• PPP runs fine, this could not be tested by much
• We expect little feedback
• Aim for a release by Dec 16th

• There is also an update to collectd 5 available and migration seems to be easy

• Kernel 6.12 has not been confirmed as LTS, yet, but should probably land here
