  • qos backup issues

    • All .pl files in the /var/ipfire/qos/bin/ directory are backed up.
      • This includes the makeqosscripts.pl file so if a restore is done you can revert the script to the fq_codel version
      • The cake version can then only be implemented by manual copying from the git repo.
      • Should anything from the qos/bin/ directory be getting backed up (qos.sh?)
      • The exclude directory explicitly excludes /var/ipfire/qos/bin/qos.pl but this is not in the repo

Log

Core Update 187

  • The last fixes for Vectorscan have been merged
    • Brief discussion what instruction sets are worth/possible to support these days and in the future
  • The release is now gold

Core Update 188

  • There is a huge list of changes that could go into this one:
    • Buildsystem changes have been merged and seem to be working okay
    • Cleanup changes cause a lot of trouble and Michael Tremer will look at them
    • OpenSSL 3.3.0 will be merged
    • Adolf Belka will move the QoS scripts to a new place outside of QoS
    • Michael Tremer will propose a patch to revert back to fq_codel by default as CAKE has too much overhead and barely any advantages in the zero-configuration use-cases

New Firmware for PCEngines APU systems by Dasharo

  • Nice to see UEFI for this device, but the price point seems to be too inflated
  • We don't expect virtually anyone to buy this

IPFire Meetup 2024

  • Request for any changes compared to last year
  • Discussion of some organisational bits
