flashrom is a utility for identifying, reading, writing, verifying and erasing flash chips. It is designed to flash BIOS/EFI/coreboot/firmware/optionROM images on mainboards, network/graphics/storage controller cards, and various other programmer devices. 1
Installation
flashrom can be installed with the Pakfire web interface or via the console:
pakfire install flashrom
Usage
There is no web interface for this Addon. To run this Addon open the client console or terminal and access the IPFire box via SSH.
To obtain a list of possible options:
flashrom -h
The output is similar to this:

Please note that the command line interface for flashrom has changed between
0.9.5 and 0.9.6 and will change again before flashrom 1.0.

-l | --layout <layoutfile> read ROM layout from <layoutfile>
--ifd read layout from an Intel Firmware Descriptor
-i | --image <name> only flash image <name> from flash layout
-o | --output <logfile> log output to <logfile>
-L | --list-supported print supported devices
-p | --programmer <name>[:<param>] specify the programmer device. One of
internal, dummy, nic3com, nicrealtek, gfxnvidia, drkaiser, satasii, atavia,
it8212, serprog, buspirate_spi, dediprog, rayer_spi, pony_spi, nicintel,
nicintel_spi, nicintel_eeprom, ogp_spi, satamv, linux_spi, pickit2_spi,
ch341a_spi.
You can specify one of -h, -R, -L, -E, -r, -w, -v or no operation.
If no operation is specified, flashrom will only probe for flash chips.
