After some bugs have been fixed since the last beta release, we are now releasing IPFire 2.15 Beta 2.
Thanks to all the people who already joined us testing. I am very happy that there are so many of you, but there is still much to do. Despite testers, we would also be very happy if you help writing documenation or help translating.
This is a list of the most noteworthy changes. You may find a complete list over here.
- The kernel has been updated to Linux 3.10.30.
- A crash with network interfaces that use GSO has been fixed. The kernel immediately paniced when QoS was enabled (#10474).
- The firewall engine is now initialized a bit earlier, which makes connecting to the Internet via Wireless Client on RED more robust.
- Systems with an Intel Haswell CPU could not start with the kernel in Beta 1, which has now been fixed.
- All synthetic drivers for Microsoft Hyper-V have been enabled (GIT, #10478).
- Support for LEDs and the integrated DSL modems of the Geos router has been added.
- Fixes for fireinfo, that crashed in some rare occasions when the serial number of the harddisk could not be determined.
- Security fixes for glibc.
- Multiple language and HTML markup fixes have been contributed by Alf Høgemark.
As you can see, the bugs we have been experiencing were not that big and easy to fix. Therefore, we would like to encourage you to install this testing release and to give feedback. However, we don’t recommend using this version in a productive environment.

Update instructions when you are already on Beta 1:
Edit /opt/pakfire/db/core/mine and set it back to version 75. Then run pakfire update --force and pakfire upgrade again.
